Ice Cricket: Sehwag's Diamonds set Afridi's Royals 206 to win

That's true. Cricket will actually be played on ice - a frozen lake, to be precise, as some of the biggest stars of the game descend on St Moritz in Swtzerland, according to a report in The Indian Express. The thrilling two-day competition featured former worldwide biggies from the cricketing world making the fans especially in sub-continent go berserk in excitement.

Dubbed "the best battle of cricket on top of the world", the St Moritz Ice Cricket 2018 promises to be a breath of fresh air, and another example of cricket pushing the barriers of the mundane. Live streaming of the event can be seen on

Virender Sehwag doesn't seem to have lost any of his touch that used to take the breath of cricket fans away when the former India opener intimidated bowlers with his free-flowing strokes. He scored 62 from 31 balls.

Earlier, the Diamonds won the toss and opted to bat first on an artificial turf carpet laid out on the perfectly laid out snowfield.

For Royals, it was Owais Shah who shined with a magnificent half-century.

But England's Owais Shah stole the show, hitting five sixes in his innings of 74 to help Afridi's team to a comfortable victory. Palace Diamonds were led by Sehwag while the other team is Shahid Afridi's Royals.

The second match of St. Moritz Ice Cricket 2018 challenge on February 9 will start from 3.30 pm onwards.
