Although the new Samsung DeX Pad is expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy S9, the new peripheral will work with all Samsung Android flagship from the Galaxy S8 and up. The size of the update will be significantly bigger for users running Nougat.

Samsung is now deploying its February security update. This mode will allow users to revert to slow-motion recording manually for up to 20 times in a single video, quickly switching between recording at 30 frames per second and 960 frames per second. The update comes with the latest February 2018 patch. Since Samsung designs and optimises it's own SoC for the higher-end devices, it is more likely for it to overcome the Snapdragon counterparts. Regular users in Germany will be the first to get Android 8.0 Oreo, followed by other regions. They're meant for developers who want to create custom software for the handsets.

The next step is testing at T-Mobile which could take several weeks while the carrier tacks on its own enhancements and bug fixes.

Nearly six months after Google officially launched the Android 8.0 Oreo, Samsung has released the updated operating system for the first of its devices.

Samsung will apparently keep the headphone jack on the Galaxy S9. Not yet at least. We will get to know more details as and when the Samsung flagships are announced at the MWC 2018 tech show. None of this hints at what kind of functional changes we can expect, however, and it's how the DeX Pad operates that's going to make or break it. Samsung Experience is essentially the new name for the company's earlier UI called TouchWiz.

Now if you like accessories that look like a Sega Genesis, this will be your jam.

Smart text selection: Android Oreo recognizes text when you tap or select, then recommends a next logical step via a suggested app. If it is available, a manual download option will pop up.

Back in January, Samsung trademarked for the DeX Pad and these renders those have been leaked now are in line with the description of the trademark. Yes, you can lay down the entire phone on the DeX so you can hold the entire device. The company has also improved the security feature for Samsung Pay.
