Soon after the attack, reinforcement of army's special forces and SOG rushed to the spot and cordoned off the whole area amid fierce gunfight, they had said.

The district administration has asked schools within 500 metres of the camp to remain closed. The camp is located on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway.

The IGP added that the guard who was doing his duty outside the bunker noticed a suspicious movement. Speaking about the number of terrorists in the area, the investigating officer said, "Number of terrorists isn't known, they've been cornered in one of the family quarters". It has hundred of quarters for the families of the armymen.

An official said the attackers managed to enter into a camp of Army's 36 Brigade.

Militants had attacked the same army station in 2006. Two people - an Army gavaskar and his daughter - have been injured in the firing by the terrorists. Hanzulla was arrested in August 2015 from Kulgam after he and one of his aide attacked a BSF convoy in Udhampur.

The area has been cordoned off and operations are underway to flush out the terrorists present in the camp. No loss of life was reported in the terror attack that took place at Indian Amry camp.
