Zidane: rumors of Isco sale 'a lie'

It was recently reported that the Frenchman plans to show Isco the exit door at Los Blancos, but a new report suggests that the manager already knows who he wants to replace the player with.

Liverpool have become the new favourites ahead of Manchester United to sign Isco from Real Madrid this summer.

Things haven't gone as well for Isco this season.

It has been a turbulent season at the Bernabeu to say the least, slipping an incredible 19 points behind their most bitter rivals, Barcelona in La Liga, while facing the unenviable task of facing PSG in the Champions League round of 16.

Real Madrid are ready to cut their losses and sell Isco - and Liverpool are set to pounce for the talented playmaker.

The Belgian shot-stopper has established himself as one of the world's greatest keepers after his move from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea in 2014.

Although Low, 58, is said to be Perez's first pick, Mundo Deportivo also name Massimiliano Allegri, Mauricio Pochettino, Jurgen Klopp, Maurizio Sarri and Guti as possible candidates to take over from Zidane at the Bernabeu.

Would you like to see Hazard at Real?

Low has been in charge of the German national side since 2006.

"You were all asking before why I did not want to sign players in January", Zidane said.

Zidane, though, has rejected any such proposals exist - and stressed he wanted Isco to remain at the club for the long term.

If Zidane can not win the Champions League this season, his days at Real are just about numbered and he's hanging on by a thread right now. He also started the UEFA Super Cup at the beginning of this season and was named man of the match.

He continued: "Zidane is a huge admirer of Isco's style of play and what he can offer the team and for this reason opted to keep faith in the player deeming that he would be instrumental in the creative play of the side". And the Blues will now have a massive task of keeping him away from the hands of the European champions.
