Golden-Globe winning composer Jóhann Jóhannsson has passed away.

The cause of death is now unknown and police are investigating the circumstances, according to his management company Redbird Music.

Johann Johannsson, an award-winning composer and producer who combined classical sounds and modern electronics on the acclaimed soundtracks to "The Theory of Everything" and "Sicario", was found dead February 9 in his Berlin apartment. "May his music continue to inspire us".

Jóhannsson was one of Hollywood's most in-demand composers, having won a Golden Globe for his work on The Theory of Everything.

Johannsson also received an Oscar nomination for the 2015 movie Sicario. "He was BAFTA nominated three times - for his scores for The Theory of Everything, Sicario and Arrival".

He's survived by his daughter, parents and 3 sisters. Last year, he worked with Darren Aronofsky on "Mother!" which starred Jennifer Lawrence.

The composer also maintained a career as a solo musician; and his latest album, Orphee, was released in 2016. "He will be so greatly missed by his Gorfaine/Schwartz family as well as the entire film music community".
