Cyber Attack Takes Place During Opening Ceremony of Olympics

North Korea initially had no athletes entered after its Olympic committee missed a confirmation deadline for a pair of skaters who had qualified to compete in the games.

So those guys are clearly not Kim Jong Un and Trump.

North Korea has also been blamed for a series of cyber incidents including the WannaCry global ransomware attack, which infected 300 000 computers worldwide last May.

The live show was meant to be a pared down version of the feat, with 300 drones flying at the end of the opening ceremony, but that too was scrapped.

The photo of Moon and Kim Yo Jong in animated greeting quickly went viral in South Korea, a glimmer of what could be.

Contrarily, North Korea has been raising the pitch on its missile development game plan. After Kim arrived at Incheon Airport and met with the Korean unification minister, Kim Yong Nam gestured for her to take the center seat at the table - leading many South Korean news outlets to conclude that she's essentially her brother's second in command.

President Moon hosted Kim at the presidential mansion for lunch on Saturday - a session in which Kim extended an invitation for Moon to visit North Korea later this year.

Pyeongchang Winter Olympics organizers said on Saturday that 11 new cases of a virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea had been confirmed at the Games, bringing the total to 139.

Kim Yo Jong and her delegation spent three days dining with top government officials, watching the opening ceremony and cheering for the united women's ice hockey team the two Koreas have fielded at this Olympics.

As the two Koreas marched together in sub-zero temperatures, South Korea's president shared a historic handshake with Kim Jong Un's sister as the Games marked a thaw in the often frosty relations on the peninsula. Organizers had to call in military personnel to replace them. Se Ri Pak was among the athletes to carry South Korea's flag that was raised along with the Olympic flag.
