"My agent went to Arsenal, I wasn't there myself but it was very respectful and in the end, I had to make a choice and I chose Spurs". Arsenal's only hope left to qualify for the Champions League will be through winning the Europa League. The England forward had scored 92 goals in 117 matches before Saturday's tie at Wembley, while Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had netted 100 goals in his previous 117 games. "Manchester United decided that once they were in the semi-final [last season], we are far from the semi-final".

But Wenger's men have won their last nine games at the national stadium, including a penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea in this season's Community Shield and the Frenchman is pleased to be back at Wembley.

"I think the game should have been finished at half-time for me".

"Arsenal is our sworn enemy and I know what it means, the derby, but we don't care if Arsenal are behind us, or where they are".

Arsenal are in sixth place in the league with 45 points and they are four points behind the fifth placed, Tottenham Hotspurs.

"Second half with the same shape we were much better".

Cech was straight back into the action, saving well from substitute Erik Lamela, who had replaced Son Heung-Min, and the keeper excelled again as he beat away a Kieran Trippier volley to keep the Gunners in the game.

All that was missing was another goal from the hosts at its temporary home in front of a Premier League record crowd of 83,222 - 38 short of the English league record set in 1948.

Tottenham grew into the match in the second period, as Arsenal found themselves penned back for long periods by near-relentless attacking pressure.

"In the second half the first 25 to 30 minutes we played awesome football and we created a lot of chances. That's why it's so disappointing to lose the game in the way we lost it". That maybe would not have been enough, but would be better than being 1-0 down.

Arsenal's next game in away against Ostersunds of Sweden, on Thursday, in the last 32 of the Europa League.

As so often is the case when Tottenham get a result, Harry Kane led the Spurs line and, as Arsene Wenger said in his post-match interview, was the difference between the two sides.
