Johnny Manziel, former Heisman winner, attempting football comeback

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported more than 20 NFL teams are expected to be in attendance to scout Manziel, among other players in the league. It consists of four teams that play two games apiece and will be broadcast on Turner Sports' streaming service. The Texas natives are friends, Manziel said on the podcast, and they both rose as premier talents during their respective college football careers. But just eight starts over two seasons with the Browns from 2014-15 would qualify as a tiny sample size for any quarterback, never mind one with the extenuating circumstances that accompanied the National Football League stint of the 22nd overall pick in 2014. Sometimes you take for granted how much you value something until it's gone. There were also reports that Manziel was sent home from a Browns practice because he was intoxicated, although the Browns disputed those reports. The assault charge against Manziel was dropped after he attended an anger management course, a domestic violence victim panel and a substance abuse program.

As far as his comeback goes, Manziel "100%" hopes to get back to the National Football League, but he admits, "I am coming back from a huge downfall".

Manziel played nine games with the Browns in two seasons, passing for 1,675 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. So prolific was Manziel at being in the news, I named him the King of Content for two years in a row! "What did that get me?"

"The goal of the comeback", said Manziel, "is to get back to the National Football League, ultimately". Where did that get me?

Manziel, 25, said he takes medication to treat his bipolar disorder.

Manziel has gained unique perspective over the years, and his comments about Mayfield touch upon one of the most significant points of all in this discussion. Disgrace? I went a solid five months until I really fell back into a little depression where I didn't drink, but still I was going to therapy. "I can't help my mental makeup or the way that I was created".

Manziel won the Heisman as a freshman with Texas A&M in 2012 and left school after his sophomore season for the NFL.
