PGA golfer Bill Haas injured in auto crash near Riviera, authorities say

Golf Digest reported that Haas was in the area for this weekend's Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club.

Bill Haas was involved in a fatal auto crash on Tuesday where the driver of the Ferrari that he was the passenger in died.

He went on: "Mr Bill Haas was the passenger in the Ferrari". The BMW's driver and the six-time PGA Tour victor were initially transported to a hospital in serious condition.

Haas, 35, was in Pacific Palisades for the Genesis Open golf tournament. According to Fischer, that vehicle was being driven by actor Luke Wilson.

The man inside the Ferrari was reportedly aged 71. The crash involved three vehicles, a Ferrari, a BMW and a Toyota FJ SUV. The driver of the vehicle was killed, and Haas and the driver of another vehicle were taken to the hospital. He appreciates the support of friends, family and the golf world as a whole, and he has asked for privacy as he processes what has happened.

Bill will withdraw from the Genesis Open and plans to head home to Greenville to recover.

Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Luke Wilson and Bill Haas asking for comment. "It basically got clipped by the Ferrari", he said. Fire officials said that the two hospitalized victims were considered to be seriously injured immediately after the crash, but Detective Fischer told KTLA that he'd since been told that Haas and the woman were "doing okay".

Haas, 35, from Charlotte, North Carolina now ranks 67th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
