Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 5 And Redmi Note 5 Pro In India

The two phones are the successor to last years Redmi Note 4, that went on to reportedly become the largest selling phone in India.

Xiaomi Mi LED TV 4 has been launched in India, featuring a 55-inch 4K display, HDR and Dolby Atmos support. The device comes in three variants and the 3GB RAM variant has 32GB internal storage and you can choose between either 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage or 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage.

According to leaks, Xiaomi may also launch another Redmi Note 5 variant, which could be called Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Interestingly, the new "Pro" version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will have a vertical dual camera setup, as in iPhone X.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 come with metal back design and back-facing fingerprint sensor. Multiple reports suggest that the smartphone could be powered by a 2.0GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor.

The Chinese smartphone heavyweights will kick-start the LIVE streaming of the launch of Redmi Note 5 at 12 PM today on social media app Facebook. The Redmi Note 5 Pro has been priced at Rs. 13,999 for the base 4GB RAM variant and the 6GB RAM variant will be available for Rs. 16,999. It will be available exclusively from Flipkart.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5's 5.99-inch screen offers more room for games, movies, reading and typing without having to scroll too much.

Xiaomi in December launched Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus with full view display and smaller bezels in China.

OnePlus introduced the face unlock feature on its OnePlus 5T and later announced expanding the feature to older smartphones, including OnePlus 5 and One 3T as well. The dual-SIM Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat. The Note 5 Pro also gets a 5V/2A charger like the Redmi Note 5, which reduces the waiting period for the phone to top up. It measures 158.5 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm and weighs 180 grams. It packs a resolution of 2,160x1,080p and a wider than usual aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone sports a 20MP selfie shooter with LED flash. It is claimed to be the first device in the world with the Snapdragon 636 SoC, and makes it the "fastest Redmi Note ever" with an AnTuTu score of 109,692. It houses a 12MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF).

Jain said, both the devices feature powerful Snapdragon processors and have features and camera specifications at very competitive prices. A 4000mAh battery backs the smartphone.
