Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez performing better than ever, says Claude Puel

Foxes boss Claude Puel came out yesterday, indirectly accusing the Blues of disrespect in trying to prise away Leicester's star player.

Mahrez has been reintegrated into Leicester training and is in contention to start against Sheffield United on Friday night but Puel expressed irritation at City's part in the episode that saw the Algerian absent for 10 days.

'I can not suffer this situation because other teams make this thing against us.

"For Riyad he has no need for valentines, he has a good relationship with his teammates", Puel said at his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's.

"He came with the squad at the weekend, he travelled with the squad, it was important for him that he came with us to stop this situation".

"For some other teams, it's not a difficulty to replace their players". "It's important to look forward and prepare for an important game - an FA Cup game - and also a Premier League game (against Stoke) because we have good possibilities".

Indeed, the last time Leicester knocked the same opponent out of both domestic cup competitions was against Plymouth in 1964-65, while Sheffield United have never been eliminated in both such cups by the same team before. "We succeeded to keep a good united within the team". "It is important to respect any opponent, to see the final you have to play and expect any opponent to be strong". The central defender has been out since suffering a hamstring problem on New Year's Day but he may be back in the squad against the Blades.

But striker Shinji Okazaki remains sidelined with the knee injury which forced him to miss the game at the Etihad.
