PM Modi visits Arunachal Pradesh, targets Congress for corruption

The Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up to make the public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, slated for February 24, a grand success.

China voices anger whenever an Indian minister or foreign dignitary visits Arunachal Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the state of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday, to inaugurate the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre in Itanagar. "I am personally going to tell people - go to Arunachal Pradesh and hold your important meetings at the centre", he said, asking why such meetings should be held in Delhi alone. "In a week tour to the country the number of times you hear "Jai Hindi", people in Arunachal Pradesh in one day time utter Jai Hindi so many times that it matches the one week of the whole country". "This is the level of patriotism here".

Modi was in the state capital Itanagar on Thursday and inaugurated the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Center, dedicated the State Civil Secretariat Building to the nation and laid foundation of the academic block of the Tomo Riba Institute of health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS). If there is a state in the northeast where Hindi is widely spoken, it is "my Arunachal", the Prime Minister said. "I will push the private sector to have their general body meeting here".

The prime minister invoked the recent deaths of BJP workers, claiming that the Left government was resorting to bloodshed, sensing that its end is near.

He also sought assistance for revamping and restoring old government infrastructure like offices, quarters and other assets that were built during the NEFA times and have long outgrown their shell life. "Presently scheme worth Rs 18,000 Crore is undergoing in Arunachal Pradesh".
