Spyro the Dragon trilogy remaster coming to PS4 this year

Spyro the Dragon trilogy remaster coming to PS4 this year

According to rumors, the game will be announced next month, in March 2018, and released in Q3 2018.

The Spyro the Dragon franchise was created by Ratchet & Clank studio Insomniac Games and originally published by Sony exclusively on PlayStation platforms.

Since the release and subsequent success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, many have expected publisher Activision to continue breathing new life into classic games.

Activision is reportedly working on remastering the original Spyro trilogy, similar to what the publisher did with Crash Bandicoot past year.

As far as the content of the Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster is concerned, the project features new assets, lighting, animations, and cinematics, in addition to a totally remastered soundtrack.

All of this is just rumours, but if it's not what Activision was planning all along we'd be shocked. Sane Trilogy, also owns the rights to Spyro so another remastered trilogy is well within reason.

According to Kotaku, the game will be announced for PS4 and it will support PS4 Pro. A few years ago, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon were nothing more than faded mascots of a long lost era. Years later, Vivendi Universal and Activision merged to form Activision Blizzard, which launched Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure in 2011.

Last week, we heard that Activision's return to Crash Bandicoot with the N.

This September, the original Spyro will complete twenty years on PlayStation 1.

Although it will not be part of the announcement, Kotaku claims that the Spyro trilogy is a one-year timed exclusive for the PS4.

The original game was released on the PS1 20 years ago - doesn't that make you feel old?
