Trump blames Federal Bureau of Investigation for Florida massacre

"Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President", Mr. Trump tweeted. Get back to the basics and make us all proud!'

The caller provided information about "Cruz's gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting", the bureau said.

President Donald Trump has criticized the Federal Bureau of Investigation after the agency disclosed that it failed to follow up on a detailed warning about the 19-year-old gunman who is charged with killing 17 people and wounding a dozen others at a Florida high school on Wednesday.

Florida governor Rick Scott has called on FBI Director Christopher Wray to resign.

After a week during which Robert Mueller proved Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, Trump used the shooting, in which 17 died, including 14 children, to attack the FBI for going after him in the Russian collusion investigation. "I never said Russia did not meddle in the election, I said 'it may be Russia, or China or another country or group, or it may be a 400 pound genius sitting in bed and playing with his computer.' The line he quoted was from a September 2016 debate when he challenged Hillary Clinton's claims that Russians were behind the hack into the Democratic National Committee".

His comments came as he faces criticism from survivors of the attack over his ties to the powerful National Rifle Association, and after several thousand rallied in Florida to demand urgent action on gun control.

"We are going to be the last mass shooting", vowed Emma Gonzalez, a survivor of the mass shooting.

Several lawmakers rejected Trump's linking of the FBI's missteps in preventing the shooting to the Russian Federation probe.

"If the President wants to come up to me and tell me to my face that it was a awful tragedy and how nothing is going to be done about it, Im going to happily ask him how much money he received from the National Rifle Association", Gonzalez said in her impassioned address.

Trump has said that despite the charges, the Russian meddling had no effect on the outcome of the election.

"General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC and the Dems", the president tweeted.

"Why didn't the Democrats pass gun control legislation when they had both the House Senate during the Obama Administration". "Wasn't I a great candidate?" he asked, presumably rhetorically.

"They are laughing their asses off in Moscow", he tweeted on Sunday morning.
