United boss Mourinho denies rift with Pogba, slams 'lies'

Paul Pogba has been ruled out of Manchester United's FA Cup fifth-round match at Huddersfield due to illness.

And those below par displays led to the two men having a face-to-face meeting on Tuesday at United's Carrington HQ, according to the Daily Mail. But I dont take you in other directions.

'I'm not going to play Hamilton but I would prefer to have him and I'm pretty sure he's happy to be here'.

"I think our game is so attractive that to change we have to change for the better", said Mourinho, who had previously backed the use of VAR. Period. End of story.

Jose Mourinho has insisted restoring the team to greatness and consistent form has nothing to do with what formation he uses or how he used Paul Pogba so it's now up to him to prove that is the case. "No need to be a liar".

"The young and industrious Scottish midfielder has impressed during his seven UEFA Youth League appearances this campaign, scoring one goal for Nicky Butt's exciting team".

After a pass to Alexis Sanchez, and a stunning return ball from the United "newboy", Lukaku continued to outpace the entire Town defence before converting his 21st goal of the season from just inside the area.

Pogba's most recent two starts have been the most concerning.

He was regularly seen wandering around and vacating the central areas, leaving Matic swamped and exposed.

The game was delayed by 15 minutes by train issues but that didn't seem to affect Brighton's record signing Jurgen Locadia, who scored on his debut for the club with his first touch after a low cross from Anthony Knockaert on the right wing.

But today, the United manager must do without the one time most expensive player in world football and has instead replaced Pogba with U23 midfielder Ethan Hamilton.

The news will likely fuel reports of Pogba and Mourinho's uneasy relationship, particularly given the manager's rant in Friday's news conference.

For a player of his athleticism, mobility and ability - not to mention price tag - it seems unusual that Pogba can perform only one specific role on the field.

I can understand why Pogba might feel irritated with the position Mourinho now has him playing in.
