PM Modi 'robbed India': Rahul on PNB fraud case

Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief BS Yeddyurappa on Wednesday called Rahul Gandhi "baccha" (kid) and said that the Congress president will ensure the victory of the saffron party in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. "The decision of Meghalaya will have an impact all over India", cautioned Rahul Gandhi during his speech at a campaign in Garobadha, 30 kms from Tura. "They are only instigating one community and religion against each other".

He hit out at the Union tourism ministry for its offer last month to beautify the churches and religious institutions in Meghalaya and accused the BJP of buying some Congress members too. He further questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the same issue. Talking to journalists in Shillong he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not against corruption, but an instrument of corruption. "The fact of the matter is that the Prime Minister has, through his actions, destroyed the financial system of this country".

Before saying anything against the Meghalaya government, the BJP leaders should remember that Meghalaya's growth rate is higher than (that of) Gujarat's. From where are they getting such money to spend.

"We will all be very grateful as a nation to get our hard-earned money back".

Addressing the media as part of his campaign for the forthcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka, at Surathkal in Mangaluru taluk on Tuesday, Shah said the Congress' allegations linking Nirav Modi with Narendra Modi were baseless. They think they can buy the Church, religion and God.

"This atmosphere of peace and stability has brought development and good governance", the Congress president said, adding that his party's government in the north-eastern state had created a "tremendous" road network and connected itself with the rest of India through the rail network. "That message I am giving you", he said.

"I promise you that we will not allow a repetition of Manipur in Meghalaya". Because we are for the freedom and voice of the people of Meghalaya and the voice of the people of the rest of the country."Earlier in the day, Mr Gandhi addressed a meeting in Jowai in the west Jaintia hills".

The BJP had published an advertisement in local dailies showing Mukul Sangma's photographs with a caption that read - "15 years of Congress rule: Mass exodus of youth from the state for lack of job opportunities".

The results of the polls would be announced on March 3.
