Wendy Williams Suffering from Graves' Disease ... Taking Extended Vacay

Wendy Williams is on the mend following a health scare last week which required her to take three days off from "The Wendy Williams Show".

She announced the reluctant hiatus on her show on Wednesday, sharing that she is dealing with thyroid issues like Graves' Disease, defined as an immune system disorder of the thyroid, and hyperthyroidism.

Last week Wendy from Jersey was visibly a bit shaky during a broadcast and then, for the first time ever, took a few days off.

However, after going to the doctor, Williams learned the Graves' disease is to blame for her sporadic eye movement and explained it squeezes the muscle behind your eyes. "Or a few byproducts of having thyroid disease that a lot of people aren't aware of". As a result, her doctor was booked until August 2017, and she didn't end up seeing him until this month.

Williams' told viewers that her doctor ordered her to take three weeks of vacation. "I was pissed. Encore performances, really?" stated Williams to her audience in a conversation transcribed by US Weekly. "A live show was produced today so that Wendy could speak directly to her fans and explain her condition". "That's why three weeks, even tho I've been off for one week Im going to fix that I'll be back in two".

During her taping previous year, Williams fainted on-air and later explained after a commercial break that she had overheated while dressed in her Statue of Liberty costume.

"It felt like I was in the middle of a fire", she added.

Williams praised her audience, who she calls her co-hosts, for noticing the bulging of her eyes and alerting her.

Before ending her announcement, Wendy had a message for women everywhere.

"What I want to say to women, more than men, is stop putting everyone first because if we're not good, they're not good", she said.

The host bounced back and returned to the show after a brief commercial break.
