Jose Mourinho admits concern at midfielder Ander Herrera's injury in Sevilla draw

Pogba had been left out of the starting line-up for the goalless draw with Mourinho apparently unhappy after the French star withdrew from last weekend's FA Cup win at Huddersfield Town citing illness.

But the Spanish worldwide broke down with a hamstring problem before half time.

"I think they had the best chances of the game".

The Frenchman, despite being declared fully fit by Mourinho 24 hours earlier, was left on the bench in Sevile, sending supporters into a confused fury at why their best player had been left out for such a big game.

"The medical department gave him fully fit on Saturday".

"The way he was playing he showed that intensity that is only possible when you are fit". He put pressure on Ever Banega and stopped him playing, he's their playmaker.

"Then the back-heel creates a contraction in the muscular area where he had a fitness problem, and now we have the proof that he was not 100 per cent fit".

Mourinho made a decision to leave Pogba out of his starting line-up, despite the Frenchman being back in the squad after illness had kept him out of United's FA Cup win at Huddersfield Town.

A solid defensive performance led by David de Gea's heroics in goal helped Manchester United to escape with a 0-0 draw at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan following a disjointed European away performance.

Sevilla controlled proceedings for much of the game and, although it generally struggled to craft clear-cut chances, Luis Muriel saw its best denied in stunning fashion by De Gea as United battled to return home with honours even.

De Gea, although, expressed his delight to make an important save during the game, he also admitted that Vincenzo Montella's side deserved more.

"I think he Keane or [Paul] Scholes but I will ask them if they tracked back". I say it is not good, it is not bad. "In previous years we were out in the group phase, so Old Trafford needs a big Champions League night".

Asked what Muriel said to him after the save, De Gea told MUTV: "He said it was a great save".

United - second in the Premier League - welcome reigning champions and fourth-placed Chelsea to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Mourinho's side were criticised for another tiresome performance, despite fielding a team that boasted Alexis Sanchez, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, and after decent results for Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea in their last-16 ties, some have accused Man United of letting the side down.
