Actor Emma Chambers dies aged 53

In a statement, her agency said: "Emma created a wealth of characters and an huge body of work".

BRITISH TV and film actress Emma Chambers has died aged 53, her agency confirmed this afternoon.

She wrote on Twitter: "I was regularly humped like this by the unique & handsome spark that was Emma Chambers".

Richard Curtis' wife Emma Freud also paid tribute to Emma and tweeted: "Our attractive friend Emma Chambers has died at the age of 53".

James Dreyfus, who also starred alongside Emma in Notting Hill, wrote to call the late actress "unique and unspeakably funny".

"Knew her when she was a kid in Doncaster".

So sad. "Notting Hill" actress Emma Chambers died from natural causes on February 21 and many celebrities took to Twitter to post touching tributes to the star. The talented star was honored by many of her former co-stars and friends, who all took to Twitter to express their sadness and sympathy to her family. "I was playing the lead in an Alan Ayckbourn play and was only given one day off", she told Hitberry magazine.

We are sending healing wishes to all those affected by Emma's passing during this hard time.

She was known for playing Alice Tinker in the BBC show and for her secondary role in Notting Hill.

She tweeted: "Such terribly sad news about Emma Chambers".

Her representative spoke on Emma's accomplishments throughout the years including the scope of roles she's portrayed during her career on the stage, small-screen, and the big screen. Notting Hill is one of my favourite films of all time and she is so stunningly superb in it.

Chambers is survived by her husband and fellow actor Ian Dunn.
