Fiji Beat Kenya To Win Canada Sevens

Fiji had it well in hand when Ambaka went flying down the left wing apparently set to give Kenya a final try only for Tuwai to wrap him up.

Their reward is a quarterfinal match up against world series leaders South Africa, who suffered a loss to second-ranked New Zealand to finish second in their pool.

"We are the first team to win two tournaments this year but that will only make the other teams much harder to play against".

It was then Ouma's turn to cap it with a final try that handed Kenya 24-19 victory. Fiji grabbed the kickoff for its first possession of the match and Josua Vakurunabili dashed from halfway for a try that leveled the scores.

Willy Ambaka gave Kenya a ideal start scoring under the post with Samuel Oliech getting the extras. Samuel Oliech swept over to put Kenya back in front.

The United States finished second in Australia's group, earning the Eagles a quarterfinal showdown with New Zealand. Alasio Naduva and Paula Dranisinukula also scored after the break.

The national sevens team upset the odds as they inflicted a 12-0 pinch on England to storm into the Vancouver Sevens Main Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

Australia held on to beat Argentina 28-24 in their fifth-place semi-final, after leading 28-0 at halftime, while England accounted for New Zealand 21-17.

Kenya found themselves at the back foot when Perry Baker scored two quick tries to give USA, who has just won USA Sevens, a 14-0 lead.

The Gareth Baber-coached side is still in contention to win the series title after they closed the gap on South Africa.

South Africa responded with two tries from Siviwe Soyizwapi and tries from Cecil Afrika and Dylan Sage - Sage scoring well after the siren to extinguish Australian hopes.
