Banned Rabada returns to top of ICC rankings

Banned Rabada returns to top of ICC rankings

To put that in perspective, Rabada has taken only 28 Tests to achieve four ten-wicket matches.

Rabada ripped through the remainder of Australia's order to leave South Africa's victory a formality. It was also his fourth ten-for in his 28-Test career. It is the joint-most 10-wicket haul by any bowler in Test history before the age of 23, along with Pakistan great Waqar Younis. "A lot has been said about how awesome KG's rise is, best strike-rate in world cricket at the moment or ever, so I don't think you have to say too much more". Du Plessis fielded his questions before Rabada‚ who sat quietly alongside his captain as he awaited his turn‚ taking sidelong glances at a television to his left that showed highlights of him taking his wickets. The skill he has to make the ball talk in both directions. He described his emotions as "bittersweet" after one of his best Test matches.

Later, home team South Africa came to bat for the first innings.

Another option would be all-rounder Chris Morris, who won the last of his four test caps against England last July.

Rabada got his third in quick succession as Mitchell Starc (1) edged a drive to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock. "As you saw in the first innings, it was important for us to absorb a little bit".

A contrite Rabada admitted he let his team down, saying, "it's going to have to stop".

And then it was time for South Africa's superstar.

"It'd be handy for us not to have to face him", Saker said. Waqar Younis was the other to take four ten-fors before turning 23, but he had played seven Tests more than Rabada.

Du Plessis argued Test cricket is becoming too sanitised.

London:AB de Villiers said he felt that he needed to prove he was still worth his place in the South African team, after continuing his return to Test cricket with a match-changing hundred against Australia.

"I'm not 100 per cent sure where Dale is", Du Plessis said. I became a dad at the same time, all of a sudden two boys are around and I've got a family.

A dramatic few days for Kagiso Rabada has culminated in the South Africa seamer returning to the top of the bowling ICC Test Player Rankings. I was like "ya sure, I'll do it".

But Rabada's disciplinary record is a problem which South Africa needs to deal with if it's not going to lose him regularly to bans. Because for me they're not.

It is indeed insane to think that he is spearheading South Africa's pace attack at the age of 22 and already has 124 Test wickets in his kitty.

"I was very motivated to prove to everyone that I can still play the game, even though I have been away for a while", he said.
