Budget session of Telangana Legislature begins on stormy note

In an unfortunate incident, Council chairman Swamy Goud got hurt.

Goud was immediately taken out of the house and after first aid at the assembly clinic, he was rushed to Sarojini Devi Memorial Eye Hospital.

Reddy had defended his actions saying he had no other option. The Government is also working on Mission Bageeradha, which is aimed at providing drinking water to all the households in the State. Soon after the Governor began his address, Congress members raised protests on farmers' suicides and the crisis in agriculture sector. A few of them held placards and some members also tore papers and flung them in the air. A few MLAs broke microphones and threw them towards the podium. At this point, Venkat Reddy threw the headphones towards the podium.

The Assembly then passed a suspension motion moved by minister Harish Rao against the Congress MLAs. Congress with its unruly behavior gave a chance to the ruling party to hit it very hard. They alleged that the Congress members were in frustration. Those suspended from the House include Opposition leader K Jana Reddy and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President Uttam Kumar Reddy. "We have respect for Swamy Goud".

Reddy said the government was trying to make him a scapegoat, and threatened that to take the fight to the people, if suspended.

The opposition is also likely to raise the alleged failures of the TRS government to implement its election promises like two bedroom houses for the poor.

The Congress members were stopped at the Well of the House by marshalls. He claimed that the state had become a role model for the other states in terms of development. Amid the Congress members' protest, the Governor continued his address in which he listed out the various welfare and developmental programmes undertaken by the state government.
