Williams earned 2018 Big Ten Conference Coach-of-the-Year honors from the league coaches and media and is one of 10 semifinalists for the Werner Ladder Naismith National Coach-of-the-Year award.

The bracket was released on Monday evening on ESPN.

The No. 6 seed Hawkeyes will take on No. 11 Creighton at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. The game will be televised by ESPN2, while a radio call of the game will be provided by the Husker Sports Network.

The regular season was fun, but at the end of the day, Nebraska was not worthy of partaking in this year's tournament.

No. 22 Arizona State was in the lead at 10-under, with No. 15 Clemson and Utah exhausted for second, both four strokes behind.

With students on spring break, campus was quiet on Monday, March 12, but Dave Sobelman, owner of Sobelman's, said he's hopeful students still around and alumni will want to watch the game on home turf.

Nebraska's 18th appearance in the NIT is the most of any Big Ten school. Prior to 2016, the Seahawks last played in the NIT in 2002 when the Green & White, led by head coach Dereck Whittenburg, dropped a hard-fought 74-68 overtime decision at Richmond, which was coached by current MI head man John Beilein. Boise State beat Utah 73-68 in the first round and lost 71-56 to IL in the second round. Creme had predicted NU was the last team in the Tournament. If it receives a No. 5 seed, UW won't play another game in Seattle this season, unless there's an upset in the No. 1 vs. The Irish also had a strong case for a spot in the NCAA tourney after preseason All-American Bonzie Colson returned from a broken left foot.

Baylor was among the last four teams out with Notre Dame, Saint Mary's and USC.

Of the eight teams on that list, Nebraska finished 3-2 against them, with wins over Rutgers, Minnesota and Purdue.

Another FHS graduate, Rylie Cascio Jensen, is a guard for the Jackrabbits.

ESPN's Charlie Creme projects the Bulldogs as a No. 1 seed in the Kansas City regional and would host the opening two rounds in Starkville. The others were Buffalo, Minnesota and Oklahoma.

A win would result in another home game at the Al McGuire Center against OR or Rider.
