Parliament: Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha proceedings stalled again, protests continue

State Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu told reporters that the TDP has chose to "expose" the Centre on what it has done or not done for the state - as promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 - by putting out relevant facts and figures before the people. "Not only us, the entire people of AP are hurt, except (leader of the opposition and YSRC chief) Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the like", the minister added.

"That is not your money or our money". Modi once said, "the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh reminded me the condition, where a mother is killed, after giving birth to a newborn".

TDP, which pulled out of the Modi government this week, on Saturday said its alliance with BJP was still on, though it was "severely hurt" by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's remarks on assistance to Andhra Pradesh.

Ironically, Union railway minister Piyush Goel had told the Rajya Sabha on February 6 that the Centre was seriously considering the installation of the separate railway zone for Andhra Pradesh.

He also charged the centre with deliberately postponing action on the issue and finding excuses and propagating that he had accepted what the centre had said. It's the people's money. "The centre gets more from south India as tax revenue but it spends more in north India", he observed. All this is not correct.

Major political parties on Monday gave notices for discussion on a wide range of issues including the PNB fraud, sealing drive in Delhi and granting special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu has directed MPs to explain to everyone about the state of affairs in the Parliament and continue the fight till demands are fulfilled and justice is delivered.

"You can't forget that fact. But if state can be divided on the basis of sentiment, why can't special category status be given based on the same sentiment?"

"There is nothing called Central money or state's money. But he should be reminded that Telangana state was granted as it was the people's sentiments".

He, however, had promised Andhra Pradesh funds equivalent to what a special category state receives and said his government was committed to meeting all promises made to Andhra Pradesh at the time of carving out Telengana.
