Jaguars Fully Committing to Run Game With Andrew Norwell Signing

The former Panthers guard is expected to sign a five-year contract worth $66.5 million with the Jaguars that includes $30 million fully guaranteed, ESPN reported, citing unidentified sources.

The 49ers are considering making a significant addition to their offensive line through free agency as the free agent negotiating period begins Monday.

Norwell is arguably the best free-agent on the market and also one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL.

Andrew Norwell is headed to the sunshine state.

Carolina Panthers offensive guard Andrew Norwell sits on the bench during the second half of an NFL football game against the Chicago Bears, Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, in Chicago.

Norwell, 26, will become the NFL's highest-paid guard with an annual salary average of $13.3 million per season, the report notes.

Speculation had linked the Panthers guard to the New York Giants because of general manager Dave Gettleman, who held the same role with Carolina when Norwell signed in 2014.

The move upgrades the interior of the Jaguars line, which should make both Leonard Fournette and Blake Bortles happy as they head into the 2018 season. He was sacked 55 and 51 times in his first two seasons.
