Margot Robbie in talks to play Sharon Tate in new Tarantino film

For those who haven't been paying attention: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is set during "the height of hippy Hollywood", and will star Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt as an actor/stunt-double duo trying to make the treacherous leap from TV gigs to feature film work. She'll also be reuniting with her Wolf of Wall Street movie-husband Leonardo DiCaprio. Stay tuned as more on Once Upon A Time In Hollywood becomes available. Deadline reported the news on Tuesday following a previous report that Robbie and Tarantino had a conversation about her playing the late actress back in July. Robbie has been the rumored pick for months, and now Deadline reports the actress has been offered the role and is entering final negotiations to seal the deal. The horrific murder of Sharon Tate (Rick's neighbor in the film) and four of her friends by Charles Manson's cult of followers serves as a backdrop to the main story.

Hype is seriously building for Quentin Tarantino's forthcoming Charles Manson movie, which he recently announced would be named Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Polanski was married to Tate when she got murdered, so it only makes sense the director will be featured in some capacity in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".

Tarantino's previous films were released by Miramax and later The Weinstein Company.

As Tarantino continues to set a killer ensemble, Sony Pictures has dated the film for an August 9, 2019, release worldwide.
