West Indies to face Pakistan in Karachi series.

Karachi have nine points from seven matches and need only one win to qualify for the last four stages of the league while their opponents have nothing at stake other than to salvage some pride after winning just one of their seven matches.

"We have a separate agreement with the West Indies in which we are exploring a tri-lateral series including Pakistan, West Indies and one other country, which will be played in the U.S. over next five years".

PCB Chairman Najam Sethi proudly made the announcement that West Indies will tour Pakistan for a three-match T20I series, scheduled to take place from April 1 to April 4 this year. Pakistan have since hosted Zimbabwe, a World XI, and a Sri Lanka team for limited overs matches, all at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.

Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim was injured during the game against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The south Asian country has remained largely starved of worldwide cricket since the 2009 attacks on a bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore, wounding six players and a British coach and killing eight Pakistanis. "The idea wasn't to make money, it was to bring cricket back, so this is a step in that direction".

He noted that after the PSL final in Karachi, the city would also host three T20 Internationals against the West Indies in the first week of next week. But talking about security perspective Najam Sethi said that "They will stay for another week after PSL final and work for the security of West Indies series,". "The details about the venues, dates, financial model will be discussed later but in principle it has decided that three countries will play in the US".
