President Trump in California, "We are going to lead in Space again"

President Trump in California,

Trump called for a new military branch to oversee space operations, conveniently dubbing the venture "Space Force" during a wide-ranging speech at Miramar Air Station in San Diego, California.

But that didn't stop President Trump for advocating for a "Space Force" today. "We may even have a space force, develop another one-space force".

But, before the USA begins building the super bomber, the air force will carry out a "critical design review" to see how it can better implement the tech. "It's like the Army and the Navy, but for space, because we're spending a lot of money on space".

The problem is Trump's administration actively opposed the idea of a Space Force past year.

Many in the military are resistant to the idea of a new space arm, with chief of US Strategic Command, Air Force General John Hyten, suggesting last November that while reform to eliminate bureaucracy is necessary to stay ahead of the Russians and Chinese, the idea of a Space Corps is wholly unnecessary. That I can tell you.

It was not entirely clear if Trump was joking about the idea or being serious, because he then referenced the "fake news" media writing stories about the Space Force.

(The U.S. Air Force has an unmanned space plane, the X-37B, which has completed several clandestine missions.) Still, the voluntary agreement has managed to prevent war in space for the past 51 years. He said China and Russian Federation have become "near peers" to the USA in space capabilities, and the United States is not pushing hard enough to stay ahead.

"I don't think we need a Space Corps", said Hyten at a security forum in Canada. It's unclear if Trump's Space Force would be any similar to what the Space Crops was meant to be. But the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act that passed last November actually banned it.
