Notably, users of other Android devices are considering making the move to a Samsung, including 19 per cent of current LG users, 11 per cent of Moto users and 10 per cent HTC users.

UBreakiFix isn't the only fix firm to gain this sort of authorization from Samsung-Best Buy offers a similar service in a handful of USA states-but the partnership looks to bring a fairly sizable boost to the Galaxy maker's customer service efforts.

Samsung Care's mission is at least made significantly easier today with the announcement of over 300 sanctioned service locations in the U.S. providing same-day support, as well as repairs conducted by Samsung "certified pros" within "two hours or less" for "most" issues.

Galaxy owners will have the option to either schedule an appointment at a uBreakiFix location, or just drop the phone off without calling ahead.

Both phones get a repairability score of 4 out of 10, with 10 meaning an easy fix.

Devices that can take service include the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S8 and even the Galaxy S9 (with all the different associated models), and also the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy Note 8. Apple customers can walk into any Apple store and get their smartphone fixed in no time. For the moment, it seems uBreakiFix and Samsung Care will be focusing more on fixing faulty phones than demonstrating value-add features, however. Since the Samsung Care authorized uBreakiFix service locations are in all major United States metro areas, the handset manufacturer hopes to reach the majority of the continental U.S. population.

Much has been made of the price of Apple's rival iPhone X and, to a lesser extent, how much the pubic could expect to pay for Samsung's new phones.
