Nicolas Cage to play Superman in Teen Titans Go! to the Movies

The film is being written and directed by former Navy SEAL Jason Cabell, and sees Cage leading a cast that includes Laurence Fishburne (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Leslie Bibb (The Babysitter), Barry Pepper (Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Adam Goldberg (Fargo), Clifton Collins Jr.

Nicolas Cage has been cast as the voice of Superman in the film Teen Titans Go!

Cage joins singer/songwriter Halsey who voices the Amazon princess Wonder Woman - who travels around in her signature invisible jet - and rapper Lil Yachty who voices Green Lantern.

It has been nearly six months since the announcement that the parody series of Teen Titans called Teen Titans Go! will have an animated feature-length film based on the show be released.

Teen Titans GO! To the Movies plans to break the fourth wall like the LEGO and Muppet movies before them, taking heroes on a trip to Hollywood inside an actual Hollywood movie - and now, when the film premieres on July 27, it'll be led by the internet's most beloved A-lister.

This is just the latest in a series of exciting casting announcements regarding the animated film.

Cage also has another unique Superman connection: He once owned an issue of Superman's 1938 Action Comics debut, considered the rarest comic of all time.

So there you go, dreams do come true (sort of)... if you're Nic Cage. Nonetheless, it's still pretty cool that Cage will get to play the character after all that happened when he was initially supposed to play him in a Tim Burton movie back in the 90's. It was laughable. But now, finally, Nick Cage, who is a huge Superman fan, will be able to portray the Man Of Steel in an intentionally comedic turn.

Warners Bros. describes the movie as "a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers".
